GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- For the final weekend of competition leading up to the 2014 SEC Indoor Championships in College Station, the No. 2/4 (m)/(w) Florida track and field teams will split four ways, coast to coast, Feb. 14-15 before a two-week training period leading up to SECs Feb. 27.


The Gator distance crew will represent the Orange and Blue at the Husky Classic in Seattle Feb. 14-15, and on the east coast, senior middle-distance runner Cory McGee will have the unique opportunity to compete at the Millrose Games in New York City in the iconic Wanamaker Mile Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:15 p.m. Florida will take a small contingent of  men’s DMR to the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Feb. 14-15, where several relay members will hit the track for individual events as well, and the majority of the University of Florida track and field squad will head to the Lone Star State for competition at the Texas A&M Invitational Feb. 15.

·         Jayla Bostic (WT: 20.86m/68-5.25), Jared Watkins (PV: 5.20m/17-0.75), Eddie Lovett (60mH: 7.74) and Dedric Dukes (200m: 20.93) all won their respective events in Blacksburg

·         Collaboratively, the Gators walked away from the Doc Hale VT Elite Meet with five career-best performances: Jayla Bostic (WT: 20.86m/68-5.25), Jared Watkins (PV: 5.20m/17-0.75), David Levin (WT: 19.19m/62-11.5), Dedric Dukes (60m: 6.79) and Stipe Zunic (SP: 18.57m/60-11.25)

·         Season-best performances from the Doc Hale VT Elite Meet in­clude: Marquis Dendy (TJ: 14.69m/48-2.5), Dedric Dukes (200m: 20.93) and Ciarra Brewer (LJ: 6.03m/19-9.5)

·         In the SEC, UF holds the top marks in the m800m (Ryan Schnulle: 1:48.05), w3000m (Cory McGee: 9:18.26), m60mH (Eddie Lovett: 7.70), the men’s 4x4 relay (3:04.46), the men’s long jump (Marquis Dendy: 7.87m/25-10) and the women’s triple jump (Ciarra Brewer: 13.55m/44-5.5)

·         The Florida’s men’s 4x4 currently ranks tops in the world (3:04.46) and NCAA, while Brewer’s triple jump (13.55m/44-5.5) leads all NCAA competitors so far this season
