Have you always dreamed of singing the national anthem in front of thousands of people? Then this is your chance!

 

An online signing competition will decide who will have the honor of singing the national anthem for the Gators’ final home meet of the year on Friday, March 7!

 

Be part of a special moment as Florida closes its home season against the West Virginia Mountaineers and honor senior gymnasts Mackenzie Caquatto, Alaina Johnson and Lauren Rose.

 

 

Official Contest Rules:

 

How To Enter

1.     We encourage Gator all gator fans 18 and older to participate in this contest. Additionally, we open this opportunity to vocal ensembles, as long as each member is 18 and older and the number of members in the group does not exceed 10.

2.     Submit a YouTube video of yourself or your group singing the national anthem by February 23 at this site.

3.     The top 3 contestants will be posted on the Gator Gymnastics Facebook Page for voting on February 24. Gator fans will have a chance to watch the top clips and vote for their favorite by liking the contestant’s audition clip. Voting will close Sunday, March 2 at midnight. The winner will be decided by the UAA based on consideration of the number of “likes” each submission receives. The winning individual(s) will be informed the following day.

What You Will Win

1.     The chance to sing the national anthem at the O’Connell Center on March 7 when the Gators take on West Virginia.

2.     If the winner is an individual, he/she will receive free admission to the meet along with two guests. If an ensemble is selected, they will receive free admission for themselves and one guest per member.

3.     Winners will be selected by the UAA Marketing & Promotions Department.

 

Who Can Participate?

Due to NCAA rules the National Anthem Contest is eligible for all fans 18 and older (High School students and their parents and UF student-athletes and their parents are not eligible to participate due to NCAA rules). In addition, employees of The University Athletic Association, Inc. and their immediate families are not eligible.

 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. CONTEST IS OPEN TO LEGAL U.S. RESIDENTS OF FLORIDA, 18 YEARS OR OLDER. CONTEST ENTRIES BEGINS AT 12:00 PM (ET) ON FEBUARY 11, 2014 AND TOP THREE FINALISTS NAMED FEBUARY 24. CONTEST ENDS AT 11:59 PM (ET) ON MARCH 2, 2014. THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 3, 2014.

ELIGIBILITY/GENERAL TERMS: Sweepstakes open to legal U.S. residents of Florida, 18 years of age and older. Current University of Florida student-athletes and their family members are not eligible to participate. Prospective student-athletes, their family members and coaches, are not eligible to participate. The University Athletic Association, Inc. employees are not eligible to win.

No substitution of prize is offered, no transfer of prize to a third party is permitted, and non-cash prizes may not be redeemed for cash. Sponsor reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value in the event the published prize becomes unavailable. The sweepstakes shall in all respects be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Florida, including all matters of construction, validity and performance, without giving effect to its conflict of laws provisions. Void outside of Florida and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All federal, state and local taxes on prizes are solely the responsibility of the prize recipient; if applicable, winner may receive an IRS Form 1099 for the retail value of the prize.

No groups, clubs, newsletters or organizations may reproduce or distribute any portion of these rules to their members, and anyone who enters this sweepstakes through means not permitted by these rules is disqualified.

All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and all of his/her sweepstakes entries) who tampers with the entry process.

 

WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES: The potential winner will be notified by e-mail within two (2) business days of being selected. Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity release within five (5) days of notification. In the event (i) the Affidavit and Release is not returned within five (5) days; (ii) mail is returned as undeliverable mail without a forwarding address; (iii) a telephone notification is not confirmed to Sponsor within twenty-four (24) hours the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected from among all remaining eligible entries as time permits. Upon forfeiture for any reason, another winner will be selected. If applicable, allow 2-3 days for delivery of prize following completion of the notification process. All entrants, by participation in this sweepstakes, agree on behalf of themselves, their executors, assigns and heirs, to release, hold harmless and indemnify The University Athletic Association, Inc. and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of any prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related or sweepstakes-related activity. Winner acknowledges that the Sponsor has neither made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend the sweepstakes if it is tampered with or corrupted in any manner and, in the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded via a random drawing to be conducted from all eligible entries received as of the date of cancellation. Except where prohibited by law, winners must consent to the use of their name, voice, picture, or other likeness in all media without compensation for promotional purposes as determined by The University Athletic Association, Inc.
