“We had a really good night in the field events, and just an ok day on the track. We’re tired – this is the runners’ third straight week competing, but we’re not going to make excuses. Jared (Watkins) had a great PR (in the pole vault) to move into the top 10 and Jayla (Bostic) and David (Levin) had good PRs as well. Cici (Brewer) and Lorraine (Graham) had season bests in the long jump and it was great to see Dedric Dukes out there with a PR in the 60m – that was his best 60m ever. I’m very proud of the work that Coach Lemke has done with the throwers and Coach Peterson has done a phenomenal job with the pole vaulters. It was a really solid night, but we’re looking forward to accomplishing some things tomorrow in the shot put, triple jump and 200m. We’ll get all the athletes back to the hotel, get them rested and get back at it tomorrow.”
