Florida head coach Mike Holloway met with the media Monday following the Rod McCravy Memorial.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida track and field head coach Mike Holloway met with the media Monday following Florida’s successful outing at the Rod McCravy Memorial at Nutter Field House in Lexington. Seven event victories and two meet records closed competition for the No. 2 (men) & No. 3 (women) Gators at the Rod McCravy – USTFCCCA’s Division I National Meet of the Week – last Friday & Saturday Jan. 24-25.

 

ROD MCCRAVY MEMORIAL NOTABLES

·         Junior Ciarra Brewer jumped her way to a meet record, season-best mark and the second-best performance in the nation (13.33m/43-9) in the triple jump.

·         Sophomore Arman Hall (400m, 45.84) and seniors Sean Obin­wa (800m, 1:48.20) and Ebony Eutsey (400m, 52.76) joined Brewer with the second-best marks in the nation in their respective events.

·         Defending NCAA Indoor Champ senior Eddie Lovett (7.70) clocked the third-fastest 60mH in the nation so far this season.

·         Florida’s men’s 4x4 of Nick Uruburu, Hugh Graham, Jr., Ryan Schnulle & Hall set a new Rod McCravy meet record (3:07.20).

·         Florida’s women’s DMR, composed of Rebekah Greene, Ebony Eutsey, Agata Strausa & Cory McGee cruised to an 11:00.16, the fastest time in the SEC, second-fastest in school history and in the nation so far this season. Florida finished second at the Rod Mc­Cravy behind Oregon in the DMR.

·         Sophomore Robin Reynolds additionally still holds the second-best mark in the nation in the long jump from UF’s season-opening UAB Invitational (6.38m/20-11.25).

·         In terms of league standings, Florida holds the top performances in the Southeastern Conference in the W400m (Eutsey), M800m (Obinwa), W3000m (Cory McGee), M60mH (Lovett), M&W DMR and WLJ (Reynolds-tie).

 

NEXT UP

Florida will hit the road for Fayetteville, Ark., for competition at the Razorback Invitational Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
