This is the fourth such honor for Hunter as she received the SEC Gymnast of the Week twice in 2013 and was the only freshman named to the weekly honor in 2012.

Hunter collected two event titles at then-No. 4 UCLA Saturday to help lead the Gators to a narrow 196.65-196.625 win. It was the first regular-season win for Florida in the Bruins’ home arena.

Hunter won the all-around (39.375) and floor exercise (9.925) titles Saturday. The all-around win is the 11th for Hunter and is the second season opening all-around win as Hunter also won the 2012 season opener at NC State. With the two event wins, Hunter becomes the 12th Gator to collect 40 or more event titles during their Gator career.

In the first national rankings of the season, Hunter is tied for sixth in floor exercise (9.925) and T-No. 8 in all-around (39.375) and vault (9.90).

Next up, the No. 4 Gators head to No. 18 Auburn (1-0, 0-0 SEC) for the league opener for both programs. Meet time is set for 8 p.m. on Jan. 17. Auburn opened its 2014 season Friday with a 194.875-189.825 win over Texas Woman’s University in front of an Auburn Arena crowd of 5,032.

The Florida-Auburn dual will air tape-delayed on ESPNU (Gainesville/Ocala channel 251 on Cox Cable) on Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Streaming video of Friday’s meet can be found on Auburn All-Access. Scoring will be available on GatorZone.com.
