Wednesday January 1, 2014Florida Diving to host Florida State Thursday, Teams to Swim Saturday
The Florida Diving team will compete against Florida State on Thursday at noon at the O’Connell Center. The team results will be applied to Saturday’s dual between the two programs.
Florida’s women divers are led by two-time SEC Female Diver of the Week Kahlia Warner (Queensland, Australia). Warner has captured six individual wins in dual meets this season, and owns season bests of 307.13 and 353.03 on the one-meter and three-meter, respectively.
The men have been led by redshirt sophomore Zach Hernandez (Jones Creek, Ga.). Hernandez has four victories to his name this year in dual meets. His season and career best on one-meter is 316.43 and season best on three-meter is 356.85.
· Sophomore Delaney Dye (Tallahassee, Fla.) ranks second on the team on three-meter with a season best of 298.50 against Georgia.
· Sophomore Emily Mosher (Cincinnati, Ohio) ranks second on the team on one-meter with a season best of 281.63 against California.
· Redshirt Junior James Pompi (Port Orange, Fla.) is second on the team on both springboards with season and career bests of 287.48 and 291.98 on one-meter and three-meter, respectively.
· Senior Chris Jones (Palm City, Fla.) is competing on both springboards again after missing most of the fall due to an injury.
Next Time Out: Both Gator swimming teams will host Florida State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
