Quotes from the Court

“We have to give Troy a lot of credit for that, not because of their lack of defense, but because of the type of game they play. The tempo really lended itself for us getting up and down the floor and that’s what our team enjoys doing, as well. When you have two teams that really like to attack, there are probably going to be a lot of points scored.” – UF head coach Amanda Butler on scoring 104 points in the game

“I’m really, really proud of the way January (Miller) played, having no turnovers and one foul, 22 points and 8 rebounds – that’s a pretty amazing stat line. We really challenged her to come off the bench and play a really disciplined, smart game and not pick up early fouls like she had been doing because we want her to be on the floor more. I’m just really, really proud of the way she responded to that.” – Coach Butler on sophomore guard January Miller

“This was a great team effort. Any time you have more assists that turnovers than you know that we have probably done a lot of the things that we wanted to in the ball game.” – Butler on the assist (19) to turnover (14) ratio tonight

“It seemed like we were leaving Ashley (Beverly-Kelley) open. We let number four score instead of Harden. In all seriousness, we paid a lot of attention to (Harden) and I have to give our team a lot of credit for the focus they had on where she was, communicating it, making sure she shot contested shots. We knew she was going to get a lot of attempts because she’s that type of player. We did a good job of finding her and making her take tough shots. She’s a great scorer. It’s a great defense effort to be able to hold her to 12 points.” – Butler on holding Troy’s Joanna Harden to 12 points (entered game as nation’s fourth-leading scorer at 26.3 ppg)
