Quotes from the Court

“I think Illinois State is a team that’s very hungry and is very well-coach. They have some dynamic scorers, in particular their perimeter players who can pose some significant challenges that I hope we can handle. They shoot the ball really well and can really spread you out with as many people they have out on the perimeter. Also, their players inside can step out so we really have to play great team defense.” – UF head coach Amanda Butler on Illinois State

“I’ve absolutely been pleased with our focus. I was really, really pleased with our practice yesterday (Wednesday). We focused more on Florida during yesterday’s practice and making corrections from our game against St. John’s. Even though we won, we had some big defensive breakdowns in execution and big breakdowns in guarding dribble penetration and I really feel good about the work we put in yesterday. Today, we’ll follow up with more of a scout-specific practice and getting ready for Illinois State.” – UF head coach Amanda Butler on the Gator’s focus in the Bahama atmosphere
