WHAT IT MEANS: The 15th-ranked Gators picked up a non-conference road win at a venue overwhelmingly swarmed by UF fans. Forward Casey Prather scored 27 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Florida and forward Dorian Finney-Smith came off the bench to card his first UF double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) for the Gators, who won their fourth straight.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Senior point guard Scottie Wilbekin, reinstated after missing the first five regular-season due to his second suspension since last November, was back in the starting lineup. Wilbekin scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished seven assists in 34 minutes. Meanwhile, freshman point guard Kasey Hill remains on the mend.
STAGGERING STATISTIC: Sophomore guard Michael Frazier went 5-for-6 from the 3-point line. The Gators shot 61.5 percent as a team.
SUBPLOT: Florida now faces the paddle-wheel part of its non-conference schedule, starting Friday night at home against Florida State. Three days later, it’s at Connecticut. Eight days after, it’s home against Kansas. A week later, Memphis in New York City.
UP NEXT: The Gators (5-1) are home against the rival Seminoles (5-1), who blasted No. 10 VCU last week and two days later lost by in overtime reigning NCAA runner-up Michigan.
