Gainesville, Fla.

Savannah Jordan is in California for a U.S. Under-20 National Team camp.

University of Florida freshman Savannah Jordan (Fayetteville, Ga./ Whitewater H.S.) traveled to Carson, Calif., this weekend to join the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team training camp. This camp is at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center and runs from Nov. 24-Dec. 1.

Jordan just completed an outstanding debut season with the Gator soccer team. She led the team with 22 goals – a total which currently stands tied for third in 2013 NCAA Division I play. She is the first freshman to be named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Jordan also was named to the All-Southeastern Conference first-team as well as the SEC Freshman of the Year. During the course of the season, Jordan picked up various weekly awards, including the Disney/ National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player of the Week after turning in five goals in her first weekend of collegiate action.

This is the second time during the 2013 season that Jordan has attended a USWNT training camp, as she joined the U-18 National Team in Lakeland Ranch, Fla., from Oct. 13-17. Jordan also was a part of the Atlanta Silverbacks of the W-League this past summer and was the only incoming freshman to be named to the 2013 W-League All-League Team.

“I think that all of this experience that she's getting with the national team is really a big help because it's a totally different coaching system and style. Whenever you can add to your repertoire, that just makes you a more complete player,” Florida coach Becky Burleigh said. “She was able to produces throughout the season, which says a lot about her and she will just continue to get better.”
