GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator volleyball head coach Mary Wise met with the media Monday to recap the last week of Florida volleyball and to preview the Gators’ two upcoming matches at Tennessee (11/20) and against LSU (11/22).

The Gator volleyball squad went 2-1 in the last week of play with three home matches in a span of five days Nov. 13-17. The Gators swept both South Carolina (25-15, 25-9, 25-22) and Alabama (25-21, 25-23, 25-17) Wednesday and Sunday, respectively, for their ninth and 10th SEC sweeps and fell short to No. 7 Mizzou (22-25, 23-25, 23-25) in front of a record crowd of 5,023 Friday evening in the O’Dome. Friday’s attendance was the 10th highest in UF volleyball history and the match was the first top-10 SEC showdown at home under Wise.

Following the weekend of play, the Gators are 24-3, 13-2 in league action and will finish out the season with three SEC matches, including a road tilt at Tennessee (ESPNU Nov. 20) before their final home match of the season against LSU Nov. 22 (Sun Sports), where the Gators will celebrate two seniors in Chloe Mann and Taylor Brauneis.

Florida is 43-12 all-time against the Lady Vols (39-7 under Wise) and 36-13 against LSU (33-5 under Wise).

Mann led the Gators through the last week of play with a .453 hitting efficiency and 29 kills. The All-American middle blocker also had a team-best eight blocks through the three-match stretch. Mann is just seven attacks shy of being eligible for the NCAA career hitting efficiency record and owns a .474 career clip. Mann highlighted UF’s Friday evening match against No. 7 Mizzou, where she hit .696, her third-highest hitting efficiency of the season, on 16 errorless kills.

Sophomore Simone Antwi hit .400 in the last week to help the Gators, while classmates Gabby Mallette and Živa Recek checked in at .377 and .357, respectively, Recek with 33 kills, to aid the Gators in the last week of play.
