Friday November 15, 2013Florida Women's Golf Signs Taylor Tomlinson for 2014-15 Season
The University of Florida has signed standout golfer Taylor Tomlinson to the Gators women’s team, head coach Emily Glaser announced Wednesday. She will join the squad for the 2014-15 season.
“We are very excited to welcome Taylor to the Gator family,” Glaser said. “I have watched her game improve every year since we started recruiting her. Taylor is very athletic and physically talented, but also has a good golf mind. She is very consistent and steady on the course. I know that Taylor will be a great collegiate golfer and she will play an important role for us over the next four years.”
Tomlinson is currently ranked No. 3 in the state of Florida and No. 11 in Golfweek’s girls junior ranking for the class of 2014. Some highlights from her 2013 season include qualifying for the round of 32 at the US Junior Girls Championship and a fourth-place finish at the AJGA Girls Championship after firing rounds of 72-74-71. Tomlinson has over 10 top-10 finishes in AJGA events. She was named a 2013 AJGA Rolex All-American. In high school golf, she led the Oak Hall Eagles in scoring in every match this fall and represented her high school as the individual district champion for four-consecutive years. She twice shot 64 in her high school district championship.
Excelling in the classroom as well as on the course, Tomlinson has made the Honor Roll throughout her high school career and is a three-year member of the National Honor Society. Tomlinson is the younger sister of current Florida men’s golfer, junior J.D. Tomlinson.
