Florida and Texas A&M shared the 2013 SEC regular-season title with identical 9-2 league records. The Gators are the tournament’s top seed based on their regular-season win over A&M. The SEC Tournament expanded a day in 2012 after the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M. The Razorbacks won 4-0 over Missouri in Monday’s play-in action to advance to the tournament’s eight-team bracket.

Last Weekend:

In its last match, Florida went to the regular-season finale at Georgia needing a win to ensure at least a share of the 2013 SEC title would stay in Gainesville. The Gators posted a 5-1 win on Halloween to finish with a league record of 9-2 to share the SEC title with Texas A&M. Florida got goals from sophomore Christen Westphal and junior Havana Solaun along with a pair of goals from freshman Savannah Jordan in the opening half. Florida’s final goal came off the foot of Annie Speese, who put in a penalty kick in the 65th minute.

About the Razorbacks:

Arkansas used a 2-1 overtime home win over Missouri on the final day of league play to earn a spot in the SEC Tournament play-in match. The Razorbacks earned their second win over the Tigers in five days when they won Monday’s play-in match 4-0. Monday’s result was the Razorbacks’ largest margin of victory this season. The Razorbacks won four of its six overtime matches this season. Sophomore Ashleigh Ellenwood leads the Razorbacks with 13 goals and she appears on the 2013 All-SEC second team.

All-SEC Honors:

Five on the field Wednesday are among those honored Monday with 2013 SEC honors. Three Gators appear on the league’s first team – Jordan, Solaun and Westphal. Pamela Begič joins Jordan on the SEC Freshman team. Arkansas’ Ellenwood is part of the SEC second team.

Jordan is the SEC Offensive Player of the Year – the first time a freshman has been named the league’s offensive player of the year. She also picked up the SEC Freshman of the Year.

Last Meeting:

Florida and Arkansas did not meet in 2013 league play. When the two teams last met on Sept. 30, 2012 in Gainesville, Florida claimed a 4-0 win. Only one of the goal scorers on that day returns to Wednesday’s match, as Annie Speese hit a 15-yard shot to put the Gators on the board in the first half. Florida also got first-half goals from seniors Holly King and McKenzie Barney. A penalty kick late in the match gave Tatiana Perez the first goal of her Gator career.

Series Record:

Florida leads the all-time series 17-0. The two teams have met three times in SEC Tournament play.

Regular-Season Conference Votes:

Florida – Tied for first overall with Texas A&M with 27 points off a 9-2 record.

Arkansas – Tied for eighth overall with Missouri at15 points off a 5-6 SEC record.

Florida is ranked No. 5 on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.
