Tuesday October 29, 2013Florida Wraps Up Fall Season, Turns Attention to Spring

Kiawah Island, S.C.

Unable to make any progress in round three action today, the men’s golf team came away with an eighth place finish at the Invitational at The Ocean Course to conclude their fall season. Florida matched yesterday’s combined team score of 15-over on the day to hold steady in the eighth position.

All five Gators finished over-par this afternoon, as freshman Ryan Orr led the team by shooting two-over (74) to finish in the top 20.

Buddy’s Bite: “A really strange fall in that there were a couple of really good rounds but there were so many poor rounds that it makes you wonder who we really are. There is enough good there to make me think we have some talent and are pretty good, but ultimately you are what you finish. We’ve been in the middle of these fields that we should be more competitive in. One thing that playing these four golf courses will do is expose you. These four have roughed us up a little bit but they have done a good job of telling us what we need to work on this winter. As tough as this semester has been, I think we can move forward and with a good winter of work we can overcome it.”
