Sunday October 27, 2013Gators Sit in Sixth Place After Round One at The Ocean Course

Kiawah Island, S.C.

After a strong start to tee off the Invitational at The Ocean Course, the Gators couldn’t close out the day, sitting 12 strokes off the lead in sixth place.

Freshman Ryan Orr was the only Gator to finish at par on the day, matching his career-best round (72) for the third time this fall. Orr made five birdies to push him into the top 10 of the leaderboard and conclude round one in a tie for eighth place.

Buddy’s Bite: “Not what we were hoping for. Got off to a pretty good start which is not something we have done this year but didn’t finish particularly well. I know they are better than they played. The course was there for the taking, we played some solid golf for 12-13 holes and then the wheels came off. I think we will do better tomorrow.”
