Freshman Kourtney Keegan advanced to the singles semifinals and the doubles quarterfinals on Friday.

UF freshman Kourtney Keegan (Roswell, Ga.) marched into the semifinals of the USTA Clay Court Invitational after a pair of victories on Friday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex’s Grand Cypress Courts.

 

Keegan knocked off top-seeded and No. 18-ranked Plaun Burgmans from Auburn, , 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-2, before taking down Texas Tech’s Lynn Kiro in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 6-3. The Gator rookie continues action on Saturday morning at the Disney/ESPN Courts.

 

Gator freshman Belinda Woolcock (Melbourne, Australia) won her round of 16 match, 6-2, 5-7, 6-0, before falling, 7-6 (4), 6-3, in the quarterfinals.

 

Stefani Stojic (Melbourne, Australia) dropped her round of 16 match to Florida State’s second-seeded and No. 46-ranked Daneika Borthwick, 6-1, 6-2, but later rebounded on the doubles court, where she and Keegan advanced to the quarterfinals after an 8-6 win against Tulsa’s team of Saarteinen and Kuricova.
