Tuesday October 15, 2013University of Florida Athletic Association Extends Longstanding Partnership With Wells Fargo

Gainesville, Fla.

The University of Florida Athletic Association and IMG College, the multimedia rights partner of the Florida Gators, today announced an extension of their sponsorship agreement with Wells Fargo. With the renewal Wells Fargo will continue to serve as a sponsor of all Gator athletic programs and as an official corporate partner of University of Florida Athletics.

 

”We are pleased to extend this long-time partnership and appreciate the comprehensive support of Wells Fargo for all of our Gator teams,” said Jeremy Foley, Director of Athletics at the University of Florida. 

 

As a part of the sponsorship extension, Wells Fargo will receive various radio and television rights, signage and on-site activation opportunities at Florida athletic venues, print and digital assets, and serve as presenting sponsor of the annual Saluting Those Who Serve military appreciation football game.

 

Additionally, Wells Fargo will annually provide a post-graduate scholarship to support Florida student athletes who are pursuing an advanced degree. The Wells Fargo scholarship will recognize student athletes who have shown leadership and excelled on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

This agreement will continue to link us as we work together to make North Florida a better place to live and work. Our goal is to help build strong and vibrant communities, improve the quality of life, and make a positive difference.”

 

Wells Fargo will also collaborate with the athletic department to deliver customized financial education seminars, built on Wells Fargo’s national Hands On Banking program (www.handsonbanking.org). The program will help better prepare students to be financially successful now and for life after leaving the University of Florida.

The Gators and Wells Fargo will jointly market their brands throughout the region. The agreement was handled directly by Wells Fargo and Gator IMG Sports Marketing, Florida’s multimedia rights partner.
