Monday October 14, 2013Gators in the NFL – Week Six Update

Gainesville, Fla.

Eighteen former Gators were active week six of the NFL season. Of those 18, 10 started for their respective teams. The Miami Dolphins, with currently four former Gators on the roster, had a bye in week six.

 

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles threw his longest touchdown pass of his career, 47 yards, to former Gator Riley Cooper in the put the Eagles up 21-17 over the Bucs in the third quarter yesterday. (Watch Here)

 

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Matt Elam – Made the start at FS and had eight total tackles, three solo.

Deonte Thompson – Saw action at WR but did not record a stat.

 

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Carlos Dunlap – Made the start at LDE and had a forced fumble, five tackles, all solo, two TFL, one sack for a loss of two yards and a QB hit.

Reggie Nelson – Started at FS and recording three tackles, all solo, one tackle and one assist on special teams.

 

CHICAGO BEARS

Major Wright – Started at SS and led the Bears with 10 tackles, all solo and one tackle on special teams.

Jon Bostic – Saw action at linebacker and contributed with one assist.

 

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Joe Haden – Started at LCB and recorded four tackles, three solo, with one pass breakup.

 

DENVER BRONCOS

Andre Caldwell – Saw action at WR and recorded one reception for seven yards and had one carry for seven yards.

 

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Jeremy Mincey – Was not active in week six.

Josh Evans – Made his third-consecutive pro start at FS and contributed with four tackles, two solo.

 

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Jaye Howard – Was not active in week six.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Sharrif Floyd – Saw action at DT and recorded two tackles, both solo, one QB hit and one sack for a loss of six yards.

Brandon Spikes – Made the start at LB and had five tackles, three solo.

 

NEW YORK GIANTS

Will Hill – Saw action at S and recorded five tackles, all solo.

Louis Murphy – Was not active in week six.

 

NEW YORK JETS

David Nelson – Saw action at WR and had one catch for 11 yards.

 

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Riley Cooper – Started at WR and had four receptions for a team-leading 120 yards. Eagles QB Nick Foles threw his longest TD pass of his career, 47 yards, to Cooper in the third quarter to put the Eagles up 21-17. (Watch Here)

 

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Marcus Gilbert – Made the start at RT in week six.

Maurkice Pouncey – Suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL during the Steelers’ opening possession of their season opener.

 

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Ray McDonald – Started at LDT but did not record a stat.

Jermaine Cunningham – Was not active in week six.

 

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Percy Harvin – Was not active week six due to injury.

 

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Jeff Demps – Saw action at RB and had two receptions for 13 yards and one kickoff return for 24 yards.

 

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Rex Grossman – Was not active in week six.

Maurice Hurt – Was not active in week six.

Jordan Reed – Saw action at TE and had four receptions for 58 yards with a long of 29 yards.
