Brianna Morgan advanced to the semifinals of the consolation singles draw.

The University of Florida’s Brianna Morgan (Beverly Hills, Calif.) won a pair of singles matches and advanced to the semifinals of the consolation draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Center on Friday.

After Thursday’s tough opening-round loss to the top-seed, Morgan regrouped and earned impressive wins against UNLV’s No. 32-ranked Aleksandra Josifoska, 6-3, 6-1, in the round of 16 and first round of consolation action. She then posted an impressive 6-1, 7-5 win against Stanford’s No. 8-ranked Krista Hardebeck in the quarterfinals.

Morgan will play the winner of the match between Kentucky’s Nadia Ravita and TCU’s Stefanie Tan in the semifinals on Saturday.

Gator senior Sofie Oyen (Leopoldsburg, Belgium) wasn’t as fortunate in her first-round consolation match, where she dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Virginia’s Julia Elbaba, ranked No. 9 in the country.
