A gymnast with accomplishments at the sportís highest levels, University of Florida sophomore Bridget Sloan is part of the three-member class which entered the Region 5 Hall of Fame this weekend. Region 5 includes the state of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.

Sloan has found success at every level of the sport, as she is the sportís first ever to have won World (2009), U.S. (2009) and NCAA (2013) all-around titles. She was the youngest member of the U.S.ís silver medal team at the 2008 Olympics. Prior to joining the Gator team for the 2013 season, Sloan trained at Sharpís Gymnastics Academy in Indianapolis, Ind.

This is the second gymnastics hall of fame induction for Sloan in as many months as she was part of the 2007 World Championshipsí gold-medal team which entered the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in August.

As a freshman in 2013, Sloan won both the NCAA all-around and balance beam titles and helped the Gators win their first NCAA team title. She is the second consecutive Gator to win the Honda Award as the nationís top collegiate gymnast and will receive the honor Saturday at the Florida-Tennessee football game.
