Tuesday August 27, 2013Women's Basketball Unveils 2013-14 Schedule

Gainesville, Fla.

Head coach Amanda Butler unveiled the Florida women’s basketball team’s 2013-14 schedule, which is highlighted by games against 15 different teams that competed in the postseason last year.

The Gators, who compiled a 22-15 record last season and reached the semifinals of the postseason WNIT, have earned a postseason berth in all six years with Butler on the sideline.

The most up-to-day game times will be posted to as soon as they are confirmed.

The Gators launch their 40th season of varsity competition on Fri., Nov. 8 playing host to Bethune-Cookman. That game will be the first of two Gator Basketball double-headers, the other on Nov. 21. The Nov. 8 game also is the first day of UF Homecoming activities, with the Gator Growl pep rally in Ben Hill Griffin Football Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.

“Our non-conference schedule is very tough for a reason, to prepare us for the Southeastern Conference and for the postseason. Each game was selected to help prepare us for the SEC, where we will be playing the best competition every night. The league schedule is going to be challenging in a significant way.”
