Freshman Arman Hall (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was fantastic Friday in the semifinals of the men’s 400 meters, running a new personal best of 44.82 to become the sixth-fastest performer all-time in U.S. Junior history. Hall’s time is fourth all-time in Florida program history and seventh-fastest in the world this year.

The Florida freshman is the youngest finalist in the event since his predecessor, three-time NCAA Champion and Olympic silver medalist Tony McQuay, who finished second overall in Friday’s semifinals in 44.72, tying for the third-fastest time in the world this year. McQuay was 21 when he won the 2011 U.S. title in the men’s 400 meters; Hall is just 19.

Sophomore Hugh Graham, Jr. (Miami, Fla.) was the fastest non-qualifier of the men’s 400 meters, racing to a new personal best of 45.19 to finish fifth overall and enter the Florida record books at eighth all-time in program history.

Former Gator NCAA Champion Kerron Clement advanced out of the semifinals of the men’s 400-meter hurdles, finishing fifth overall in 49.07. He will compete in the finals of the event at 4:36 p.m. CT Saturday.

Robin Reynolds (Miami, Fla.) qualified out of the semifinals of the junior women’s 400 meters in 53.97. Reynolds will look to advance to the 2013 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, taking place August 23-25 in Medellin, Columbia. The top two finishers in junior events advance to the Pan American Championships with the finals of the junior women’s 400 taking place at 1:46 p.m. CT.

Ugonna Ndu (Newark, N.J.) turned in a runner-up performance in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the 2013 AFN/Cross Rivers State All-Nigeria Athletics Championships, racing to a 56.7 finish and stamping her ticket to Moscow. Ndu, the Florida record holder in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, will compete in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the World University Games and will look to run a wind-legal time to secure her place in Moscow in the event.

The 2013 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships continue Saturday, June 22 and finish up Sunday, June 23.

The event serves as qualification for the 14th IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Moscow, Russia, August 10-18, 2013. The top three finishers in each event at the USA Outdoor Championships advance to Moscow, provided the athlete has the A standard in his or her respective event.

There are 11 members of the 2013 Florida track & field rosters competing at the 2013 USA Outdoor Championships and two at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Five-time USTFCCCA National Men’s Coach of the Year Mike Holloway is the head men’s coach for Team USA this summer.
