The honors continue to roll in for former University of Florida men’s basketball players in the NBA. Former Gator David Lee was named to the 2012-13 All-NBA Third Team, the NBA announced on Thursday, May 23. Lee became the second former player from the University of Florida to be named to an All-NBA Team, joining former Gator Al Horford.
Lee was one of seven players in the NBA to average a double-double for the 2012-13 season (18.5 points per game and 11.2 boards per contest). He finished the regular season ranked fourth in rebounding and 15th in scoring. His Golden State Warriors advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals, the furthest the team has advanced in the playoffs since 2006-07.
Currently, three former players remain in action with their respective teams in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller and the defending champion Miami Heat currently hold a 1-0 series advantage against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the Western Conference Finals, Matt Bonner and the San Antonio Spurs lead the Memphis Grizzles 2-0.
