Gator fans who are looking to make the tailgating experience more enjoyable, easier to plan and less stressful to set up will have a new service available to them for the 2013 football season.
The University Athletic Association is teaming up with Tailgate Guys, a company that provides guests with a first-class, turnkey tailgate experience.
All tailgating equipment, which can include tents, tables, chairs and even full television packages, will be set up in advance on the Reitz Union Lawn just steps from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Guests will also have the option to reserve ice-filled coolers, paper products and utensils, as well as several choices for full-service catering.
“We are honored to begin this partnership between Tailgate Guys and the University of Florida,” said Chip Howard, Executive Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs, University Athletic Association. “Tailgate Guys will deliver a first-class tailgating program that will greatly enhance the game-day experience for our football fans this year and for years to come.”
"It is a true privilege for our team to join forces with one of the best athletics programs in the country," said Parker Duffey, President of Tailgate Guys. "We are excited to get started and look forward to working with the Florida Gator community over the many years to come."
Founded in 2009, Tailgate Guys can be found operating on campuses and bowl games, including Auburn University, Texas A&M University and the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Beginning today, Monday, May 13, all tailgate packages will be made available to the public for reservation. Reservations are expected to fill quickly as Tailgate Guys has been fully booked with stand-by lists for several years at other campus locations.
