The Golf Coaches Association of America announced University of Florida men’s golf assistant coach John Handrigan as a finalist for the 2013 Jan Strickland Award presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf.  The Strickland Award is presented to the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or NJCAA assistant coach that has excelling working with their student-athletes both on and off the course.


In his second season at the University of Florida, Handrigan has helped UF capture a team title at The Invitational at The Ocean Course. UF has seven top-five finishes, as well. With postseason play underway, the team is looking to advance to their 13th straight NCAA Championship. Florida currently holds the longest active streak in the nation.


The two other finalists are Northwestern’s David Inglis and Ryan Murphy of Texas.
