Monday April 15, 2013VIDEO: Coach Thornqvist Previews SEC Tournament

Gainesville, Fla.

Head coach Roland Thornqvist talked with the media as part of UF’s All Sports Press Conference on Monday.

Coach talked about how tough the SEC is this season, with Florida being ranked No. 2 in the country but being the No. 3 seed in this week’s Southeastern Conference Tournament.

After a three-way tie for the SEC regular-season championship, a draw by league officials determined Florida (19-2, 12-1 SEC) would be the No. 3 seed in the 14-team event that begins Wednesday in Starkville, Miss.

As one of the top four seed, the Gators earned a bye for the first two rounds and will play either sixth-seeded Vanderbilt, No. 11 seed Kentucky or No. 14 seed LSU on Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m. ET.

Last week the Gators secured their fourth consecutive SEC regular-season title. This is Florida’s 27th SEC overall championship in the 34-years the league has sponsored the sport, making the Gator women’s tennis team the winningest of any SEC women’s team in any sport.
