The No. 2 University of Florida lacrosse team is set to play its third ranked opponent in a row on Saturday as it travels to No. 13 Dartmouth. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field in Hanover, N.H.

Both teams put undefeated records on the line in Saturday’s contest, with Florida coming in at 8-0 and Dartmouth at 4-0.  In addition, Dartmouth will also try to defend its 16 game regular-season home win streak that dates back to April 17, 2010.  Dartmouth enters Saturday’s contest fresh off a 12-7 win over Delaware on Wednesday.

The Gators are led by the trio of Ashley Bruns (Ellicot City, Md.), Kitty Cullen (Rockville, Md.) and Shannon Gilroy (Northport, N.Y.).  Cullen leads the Orange and Blue in points (27) and has come on strong as of late, scoring multiple goals in the last six games including five against Loyola and four against Syracuse.  Gilroy has chipped in 23 points (22 goals, one assist) and Bruns adds 22 points (17 goals, five assists).

Florida is currently outscoring their opponent 112-51 over eight games and own a .482 shooting percentage and .750 shots on goal percentage. Gilroy is leading the charge in draw controls with 25 while senior midfielder Brittany Dashiell (Bel Air, Md.) follows closely behind with 22. Senior attack Gabi Wiegand (Bay Shore, N.Y.) leads the team with eight assists on the season.

UF’s defense is allowing just 6.37 goals per game, backed by ALC Defensive Player of the Week senior goalie Mikey Meagher (Liverpool, N.Y.) who has started all eight games recording 46 saves and a .532 save percentage.  Senior defender Emily Dohony (Parkton, Md.) leads UF with 16 ground balls and senior defender Sam Farrell (Millersville, Md.) has 13 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Dartmouth is led by Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week Hana Bowers who has 16 points off 11 goals and five assists.  Junior attack Liz Calby also leads the Big Green offense, with 10 goals and four assists so far in 2013.  Junior goalie Kristen Giovanniello has seen all the action in the cage for the Big Green, recording 20 saves and a.400 save percentage.

The Big Green have wins over Oregon (8-7 OT), New Hampshire (11-10), Boston University and Ivy League opponent Yale (10-6).  The game also marks the second of a home-and-home series for the two teams, as they previously met on March 20, 2012 in Gainesville where the Gators came out with a 20-4 win at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
