The No. 2 Gator men and No. 6 Gator women prepare for the 2013 SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Friday-Sunday, February 22-24. The University of Arkansas hosts the meet at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

The Championship Central for this weekend’s meet can be found on ArkansasRazorbacks.com, including the meet schedule, performance lists, Fan Guide and much more. Live results will be provided by Flash Results and full recap will be available on GatorZone each day. Fans can interact with the Gators on Twitter throughout the meet at @GZTrackField.

The meet will be broadcast live on RazorVision all day Friday, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CT, and 12-12:30 p.m. CT on Sunday. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, the meet will air live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app. Dwight Stones and Larry Rawson will be on the call with Lewis Johnson on the sideline.

A highlight package of the SEC Indoor Championships will air on Wednesday, March 13 on ESPNU beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Florida women are the defending champions and have captured two titles in the last three years, while the UF men are looking for their first SEC Indoor title since 2011.

“The SEC Championships is the most exciting meet I’ve ever gone to. I’ve been to the World Championships, the Olympic Games, the Olympic Trials and nothing surpasses it because of all the passion,” Florida head coach Mike Holloway said. “Everybody there has a purpose. Everybody there wants to do something special. Even the teams that don’t really have a chance to win the championship, they bring individuals into the meet and they want to make a statement as well, so it’s just an incredible competition and we’re looking forward to it.

“We want take care of 2013. Our focus is always going into that building and walk out of that building to have Gator Nation be very proud of the track and field programs,” Holloway finished.

Florida returns five SEC Indoor Champions from a year ago, including triple jumper Omar Craddock (Killeen, Texas), long jumper Marquis Dendy (Middletown, Del.), hurdler Eddie Lovett (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and weight thrower Jeremy Postin (Andover, Kan.), as well as 5,000-meter champion Florence Ngetich (Eldama Ravine, Kenya) on the women’s side.

For the men, Dendy is the current NCAA and national leader in the men’s long jump, leaping 7.99m/25-5.25 at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet, good for fifth in the world this year. Another NCAA leader is the Gator men’s 4x4, as sophomore Miami natives Hugh Graham, Jr. and Dedric Dukes, senior Leonardo Seymore (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and freshman Arman Hall (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) teamed up to win the Razorback Invitational in 3:05.93.

The Gator women’s 4x4 owns the second-fastest time in the world this year with their Razorback Invitational victory of 3:31.68, good for second all-time in UF history and first in the SEC this season. That relay consisted of freshmen Destinee Gause (Reynoldsburg, Fla.) and Kyra Jefferson (Detroit, Mich.), junior Ebony Eutsey (Miami, Fla.) and senior Lanie Whittaker (Miami, Fla.).

Other SEC leaders include Cory McGee (Pass Christian, Miss.) in the women’s mile (4:32.10), Eddie Lovett (West Palm Beach, Fla.) in the men’s 60-meter hurdles (7.65) and Postin in the men’s weight throw (20.70m/67-11).

Eleven teams ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA National Team Computer Rankings will be gunning for an SEC crown, including the top-ranked men’s and women’s teams in Arkansas and LSU, respectively. The women’s field is especially loaded, with six teams ranked inside the top 15.

On the men’s side, host Arkansas (No. 1), the No. 2 Gators, Texas A&M (No. 3), LSU (No. 16) and Ole Miss (No. 19) are all in the latest poll. For the women, No. 1 LSU, the host Razorbacks (No. 3), the No. 6 Gators, No. 7 Georgia, No. 9 Texas A&M and No. 14 South Carolina are all ranked and contending for the SEC title.
