Women's Tennis Headline
The Gators were ranked No. 1 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rankings that was released on Tuesday.
Florida received the top spot in the initial team rankings of the season and maintained that position for this second poll of the year.
The ITA Team Rankings will be released every Tuesday for the remainder of the season, while the individual national singles and doubles rankings will be released every-other week beginning February 12.
In the first IITA National Singles Rankings released on Jan. 3, 2013, six Gators were listed: No. 1 Sofie Oyen, No. 5 Lauren Embree, No. 22 Danielle Collins, No. 66 Brianna Morgan, T-No. 82 Caroline Hitimana and No. 114 Olivia Janowicz.
Only one UF doubles team earned a spot in the first national listing of the season: No. 47 Olivia Janowicz & Caroline Hitimana
The Gators play host to No. 43 South Florida on Tue., January 29 in the team’s first dual match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. from Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex and admission is free.
