A pair of Gators picked up Southeastern Conference honors Wednesday as senior Ashanée Dickerson (Jacksonville, Fla.) is the SEC Gymnast of the Week and junior Mackenzie Caquatto (Naperville, Ill.) is the SEC Specialist of the Week. Georgia’s Brandi Jay is the SEC Freshman of the Week.

Dickerson claimed three event titles, including winning her 15th career all-around with a season-best total of 39.575 in Florida’s win over Missouri. She upped her collegiate vault best to a near-perfect 9.975 to claim her second title of the season on the event and the 16th as a Gator. She also anchored the Gators’ floor exercise lineup with her winning mark of 9.90 for the 17th floor win as a Gator. Dickerson now owns five event titles this season and 63 for her career, which places her fifth on the Gators’ all-time list.

Dickerson earned 2012 All-America accolades in each of the three events she won last Friday and owns a career total of eight All-America honors. This is the fourth SEC Gymnast of the Week honor of Dickerson’s career.

Caquatto found perfection on the uneven bars, anchoring the Gators’ bar lineup with a perfect 10.0. She is the first collegiate gymnast to earn a 10.0 in any event this season. With her 10.0 Friday, Caquatto becomes the fifth Gator to earn the mark on uneven bars and first since All-American Melanie Sinclair earned her third in 2009. She is the first Gator to claim the SEC Specialist of the Week honor, a new category for the 2013 league’s weekly honors.

Caquatto has accumulated 11 bars titles during her Gator career. She earned All-America honors on bars in 2012, tying for sixth in the NCAA uneven bars final.
