Friday January 4, 201312 Former Gator Football Players in NFL Playoffs

Gainesville, Fla.

With the beginning of the National Football League playoffs this weekend, Florida fans will have plenty to cheer for. There are 12 former Gator football players on rosters of playoff teams. This weekend’s matchups will feature six former Florida players, while six other players have byes in the first round.



Saturday, January 5

Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans – 4:30 p.m. (NBC)

DE Carlos Dunlap and S Reggie Nelson play for the Bengals


Sunday, January 6

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)

WR Deonte Thompson plays for the Ravens


Seattle Seahawks at Washington Redskins – 4:30 p.m. (FOX)

DT Jaye Howard plays for the Seahawks. QB Rex Grossman and OL Maurice Hurt play for the Redskins.



LB Mike Peterson and the Atlanta Falcons have a bye in the Wild Card round after earning the NFC’s top overall seed. DT Ray McDonald also has a bye as the San Francisco 49ers are the NFC’s second seed.


The Denver Broncos and WR Andre Caldwell have a bye as the AFC’s No. 1 seed, while the New England Patriots and LB Jermaine Cunningham, TE Aaron Hernandez and LB Brandon Spikes are the second seed and have a bye.
