New Orleans, LA

Former Florida football greats Emmitt Smith and Danny Wuerffel will represent the Gators for the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl coin toss.

Smith, one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, played for the Gators from 1987-89 and was a consensus All-American in 1989. He was a first-round pick in the 1990 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys and went on to become the NFLís all-time leading rusher.

Wuerffel played in three Sugar Bowls while at Florida (1994, 1995, 1997), winning twice, including a 52-20 win over Florida State in the 1997 Sugar Bowl, giving Florida its first national title. Wuerffel was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 1997 and continues to have a presence in the local New Orleans community through his Desire Street Ministries organization.
