Friday’s match between the No. 16 Gators and the LSU Tigers has been moved to 6 p.m. ET on Friday, November 16. The match had originally been scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
The time change is to accommodate fans who want to support both Gator volleyball and soccer on Friday evening, as No. 2 regional seed Florida hosts UCF in the NCAA Soccer Second Round at 7 p.m. ET.
It’s a big weekend for both Gator programs, as UF soccer is one of eight teams to host Second and Third Round action this weekend. The first 200 UF students with their Gator 1 Cards will receive free admission. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under, students and senior citizens.
In the O’Connell Center on Friday night, UF volleyball welcomes SEC West rival LSU to Gainesville for the only match-up of the season between the two teams. LSU is 12-14 on the year and 8-9 in conference action.
Florida’s quest for a 20th SEC championship could be completed this weekend, as the Gators need to win two more matches to claim the conference crown outright. The Orange and Blue can clinch a share of the title with a win on Friday night but the Gators control their own destiny and can end Tennessee and Texas A&M’s title hopes with two wins on the weekend.
There are a number of fantastic promotions for the weekend, including Beat the Tigers t-shirts for the first 500 UF students that arrive to the match. Fans can donate two or more canned food items at Gate 1 on Friday evening and receive buy one, get one free admission to Sunday’s match against South Carolina.
There will be a student rally beginning at 5 p.m. outside Gate 2 for students coming to the LSU match, including free food, drinks and music. Also, any Gator fans with a Jacksonville State football ticket can attend Friday’s match for free by showing their football ticket at the Gate 1 entrance.
