The University of Florida football team will travel to Nashville for its final conference road trip to face the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
Florida (5-0, 4-0 SEC) is coming off of a huge win over No. 4/3 LSU at home, scoring 14 unanswered points in the second half to secure the victory, 14-6, and improved to 4-0 in the SEC. UF only had three SEC wins all of last season.
The Gators continue to dominate the second half. UF is the only team in the nation that has allowed zero fourth-quarter points, outscoring opponents 41-0 in the final period.
Vanderbilt (2-3, 1-2 SEC) got a conference road win at Missouri last week, defeating the Tigers, 19-15.
The Gators are looking for their 22nd win in a row over the Commodores, a streak dating back to 1989. The last Vanderbilt win over UF was in 1988, when VU upset No. 20 Florida, 24-9, in Nashville.
Florida RB Mike Gillislee was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week against LSU, rushing for 146 yards and two TD. He ranks first in the SEC and 18th nationally with 109.6 rushing yards per game and has 7 TD.
The Gators moved up to No. 4 in the AP poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/Coaches poll. No. 4 marks UF’s highest ranking since the 2010 preseason poll (ranked No. 4), and is its highest regular-season ranking since the 2009 season when it ranked No. 1 after the regular season.
