The two teams come into Sunday’s action after playing matches both decided by 2-1 scores. The Gators won their league home opener 2-1 over No. 23 Tennessee. The Gator goals came in each half. Junior transfer Adriana Leon hit a 20-yard blast to put the Gators up in the sixth minute – the earliest Gator goal this season. It was her second consecutive Gator goal, as it was Leon who scored the golden goal in Sunday’s 2-1 OT win at Auburn. Senior McKenzie Barney put in the deep cross from sophomore Havana Solaun to score in the 52nd minute. She now leads the Gators this season with three goals. Tennessee’s Hannah Wilkinson cut the Gator lead to 2-1 in the 73rd minute.

Florida will be the third Sunshine State opponent for the Bulldogs this season, as UGA defeated USF 2-1 on Aug. 31 and lost 1-0 in overtime at then No. 9 UCF on Sept. 2. UGA opened 2012 league play last weekend with a scoreless tie versus Vanderbilt and defeated Arkansas 2-0. On Friday, Georgia lost 2-1 at Alabama. Freshman Bella Hartley leads UGA this season with four goals.

Last year, the Gators opened conference play with a 1-0 win at Georgia. Erika Tymrak scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute.
