These two teams split in their pair of 2011 meetings. Florida lost to Auburn 3-2 in the Southeastern Conference Tournament final in Orange Beach, Ala. The Gators fell behind 2-0 in the opening 30 minutes, but tied the match by the 54th minute off of goals from Jillian Graff and Holly King. The game-winning goal came for Auburn in the 64th minute and despite several near-misses to again tie the score, Florida lost its attempt to claim its second consecutive league tournament title.

The Gators needed to come from behind twice when they met then No. 22 Auburn on Oct. 7, 2011 at the James G. Pressly Stadium. Erika Tymrak played a part in every Gator goal of the match, scoring twice in regulation and sending the final pass which led to McKenzie Barney’s golden goal in the 97th minute. Tymrak tied the match in the 49th minute (eight yard shot) and again in the 58th minute.

Both teams come into Sunday’s match after dropping their league opener Friday night. The Gators dropped a 2-1 decision at Kentucky. Both teams scored penalty kick goals in the opening half. Barney hit her first collegiate PK attempt for her second goal of the season in the 12th minute to give UF an early lead. In the second half, a goal off a Wildcat corner kick gave UK the final margin.

Auburn played host to No. 21 Missouri Friday, dropping a 2-0 decision to the league’s newest Tigers. MU scored a goal in the 28th and 51st minute to push their record to 6-1. Sophomore Tori Bell leads Auburn this season with three goals. AU is 4-6 in 2012 home action. Auburn is the fourth UF opponent this season who ranked among the NSCAA preseason ranking as the Tigers checked in at No. 25.

Four SEC teams are among the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) top 25 and two additional programs are receiving votes. The SECs new additions – Texas A&M and Missouri – are ranked No. 10 and No. 21, respectively. Florida is No. 22 and Tennessee holds the No. 25 spot. Also receiving votes are Kentucky and Mississippi.

Live streaming video of Sunday’s match is available through on Auburn All-Access. The match can also be heard on www.GatorZone.com with Adam Schick calling the action.
