GAINESVILLE -- After taking its opener against Bowling Green on Saturday, the Florida takes to the road this weekend for an early SEC opener, as the Gators travel to storied Kyle Field in College Station, Texas to face new league opponent Texas A&M.
ESPN College Game Day will be broadcasting live from College Station, marking UF’s 32nd appearance on the on-site pre-game show, the highest total in the nation.
Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced on Monday that the Gators would go into Texas A&M with Jeff Driskel as their starting quarterback. Driskel will undoubtedly look to take advantage of the Gators’ ground game once again, as Mike Gillislee ran for a career-high 148 yards and two touchdowns in the opener against Bowling Green.
Texas A&M is making its season debut after its opener at Louisiana Tech was postponed due to weather associated with Hurricane Isaac.
The Gators are making their 11th trip to the Lonestar State, although it has not been traditionally kind, as UF is 1-7-2 all-time in the state of Texas.
