Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays in the South,” concludes its ninth season this weekend. The series, hosted by Tim Brando, is syndicated in 77 markets throughout the country. The show will air in Gainesville on WCJB on Sunday, August 19 at 5:00 p.m.
This week’s show features Florida quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, as he reflects back on his time in Gainesville, including winning the 1996 National Championship. And learn about his work at Desire Street Ministries, a non-profit faith-based organization focusing on spiritual and community development around the Southeast.
In the past Football Saturdays has featured stories on Florida’s current head coach Will Muschamp, Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer, Brandon Siler, Mick Hubert, the UF-UGA Rivalry, Joe and Josh Haden and Chris and CJ Leak.
