Ten members of the University of Florida’s NCAA runner-up team were recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches Association (NACGC) for their 2011-12 grade point averages. The NACGC recognizes the academic accomplishments of collegiate gymnastics teams each season. The Gators posted a 3.4858 cumulative team GPA for the 2010-11 academic year.

To qualify for the NACGC Scholastic All-America team, a gymnast must have a GPA of 3.50 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above at the nominating institution.
Ellis and Ferguson appeared on the NACGC Scholastic All-America team each year of their collegiate careers. Ellis turned in a 4.0 grade point average in 2011-12. Johnson, Mahlich, Rose and Wiggins make their second consecutive NACGC Scholastic All-America appearance in 2012.
In 2012, the Gator gymnastics team took second at the NCAA Championships and
claimed the program’s eighth Southeastern Conference title. Six Gators picked
up a school record total of 16 All-America honors in NCAA action.
