British record holder Shara Proctor (Great Britain) narrowly missed advancing in the finals of the women’s long jump, finishing ninth overall with her leap of 6.55m/21-6 (+0.2).
Proctor is the first Anguillan-born female athlete to participate in the Olympic Games and second Anguillan-born athlete overall (Keith Connor – 1984, bronze medalist in men’s triple jump).
