Gator Azania Stewart scored nine points with three rebounds and a game-high three blocks for the Great Britain national team against the United States at Manchester Arena in the squad’s final tune-up game before the 2012 Olympics.

 

The Wood Green, England, native helped her home country team stay close early in the game against the reigning Olympic champions, contributing a three-point play and scoring five straight points during a first quarter when Great Britain trailed just 25-21. The Red, White and Blue, however, came alive and outscored the home team 22-11 in the second quarter thanks to a 21-0 run and took a 47-32 halftime lead en route to an 88-63 decision.

 

Stewart and Great Britain begin Olympic action on July 28 in a preliminary game against Australia.
