Gainesville, Fla.

Seating is now available for the nationally televised basketball game, organized by the City of Jacksonville, featuring the University of Florida Gators and the Georgetown University Hoyas in Jacksonville at Naval Station Mayport on November 9, 2012. The game is being held in conjunction with the Thursday, November 8 Jacksonville Jaguars football game against the Indianapolis Colts during the city’s military appreciation week.

Due to military rules and regulations on active bases, fans wishing to attend the basketball game are required to purchase a sponsorship package. These rules and regulations do not allow individual tickets to be sold for an event on a military base. Therefore in partnership with the Jaguars, fans must purchase a sponsorship package to include both games.

Sponsorship packages start at $1,000, which includes two basketball game passes, four tickets for military personnel and two personal tickets to the Jaguars vs. Colts game and VIP access to related events.

Military Appreciation Week, to be held from November 5-12, 2012, is coordinated by the City of Jacksonville, its Military Affairs department and the Jacksonville Jaguars and is dedicated to the brave men and women in the military. The week begins with a JAX Chamber Military Appreciation Luncheon on November 6 and ends with the annual Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Jacksonville on November 12. Proceeds from the sponsorship packages will go to support local military and veterans efforts.

“As the City of Jacksonville hosts these great events during the weekend, we are excited to offer to the fans sponsorship opportunities to attend both games and allow our military personnel to attend the Jaguars game,” said Alan Verlander, Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment.  “Due to the unique nature of this event, we anticipate sponsorship packages selling out quickly due to the heavy demand and limited supply.”

Sponsorship packages will officially go on sale Monday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. EST. To purchase your package of choice or for more information about available sponsorship opportunities, please contact the City of Jacksonville’s Sport and Entertainment Office at (904) 630-3690 or visit www.jaxsport.net.
