The Gators are getting ready for more international competition as five members of the Orange and Blue will don Red, White and Blue as they head to Spain for the 2012 IAAF World Junior Track & Field Championships. Montjuïc Olympic Stadium in Barcelona will be the venue of the six-day competition that will feature 180 countries and the best athletes in the world under the age of 20.

Gator All-Americans Ciarra Brewer (Union City, Calif.) and Taylor Burke (Medina, Ohio) will be competing in the triple jump and high jump, respectively. Brewer and Burke both claimed SEC Outdoor titles this spring. Brewer is already a two-time All-American and Burke splits her time between the high jump and the pitch, as she is the starting goalkeeper for the Gator soccer team.

Incoming freshmen Arman Hall (Pembroke Pines, Fla.), Robin Reynolds (Miami, Fla.) and Shayla Sanders (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) are also on Team USA for the trip to Spain, as Hall will compete in the men’s 400 meters and as a member of the men’s 4x400-meter relay. Reynolds advanced to Barcelona in the women’s long jump, while Sanders is a member of the women’s 4x100-meter relay and an alternate in the women’s 100 and 200 meters.

Competition begins Tuesday and runs through Sunday. Olympic Stadium in Barcelona was the site of the 1992 Olympic Games, where Team USA brought home 32 medals in track & field, the second-most in American history.

Live results and coverage of the World Junior Championships can be found at IAAF.org. UniversalSports.com will offer live broadcast coverage starting on Saturday, July 14 at 12:20 p.m., Eastern. Day five and six evening session coverage can be found on the site for $5.99. DirecTV and Dish Network subscribers can log on to the site and watch the broadcast for free.
