OMAHA, Neb. -- The Gators open play in the 2012 College World Series on Saturday night against a very familiar opponent.
The Gators face SEC rival South Carolina in the nightcap here at TD Ameritrade Park. Florida has won three of four against the Gamecocks this season.
The last time the teams faced each other in Omaha the Gamecocks celebrated their second consecutive national title with a 5-2 win.
Junior left-hander Brian Johnson (8-4, 3.56 ERA) will face South Carolina ace Michael Roth (7-1, 2.50). You can follow the game here on GatorZone.com's live game blog.
The winner advances to face the Arkansas-Kent State winner on Monday night.
