Gainesville, Fla.

The Gator Ticket Office is now taking orders for 2012-13 volleyball season tickets for all fans. There are multiple ticket packages available for every Gator fan to Live Life in the Dome.

Season tickets for adults are only $35 for the entire season, which includes both home tournaments and every Southeastern Conference match. The Country 103.7 Gator Gold Card, featuring entry into volleyball, women’s basketball and gymnastics, is just $60.

Gator fans also have the opportunity to purchase the SEC Ticket Package, which includes 10 adult general admission tickets, good for any Florida Volleyball home SEC match, for just $25. Fans can use one ticket for all 10 matches, all 10 tickets for one match or any combination of tickets and matches while supplies last.

The Gators, who are coming off an Elite Eight run in 2011 and their 21st consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, have an impressive 17-match home schedule lined up for the 2012 season including contests against 2011 NCAA participants Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee, the 2011 SEC Champions. Additionally, the Orange and Blue will honor the 20th anniversary of Florida’s first Final Four team and will welcome back those Gator Greats early in the season.

In non-conference action, Florida opens the season by hosting the 2012 Campus USA Credit Union Invitational, playing host to Sunshine State opponents Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International and Florida A&M Friday and Saturday, August 24-25. The Gators welcome Vizura Beograd, hailing from Belgrade, Serbia, to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in a Labor Day exhibition match on Monday, September 3. The Orange and Blue once again host the Active Ankle Challenge, welcoming Georgia Tech, Jacksonville and Louisiana-Lafayette to the O’Dome on Friday and Saturday, September 7-8.

The Gators open SEC play at home on Friday, September 21 as they play host to new SEC opponent and 2011 NCAA participant Missouri, whom the Gators defeated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last winter in their first-ever meeting.

UF returns to the friendly confines of the O’Connell Center to begin a four-match homestand as the Gators welcome the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday, October 5 and the Kentucky Wildcats, a 2011 NCAA participant, on Sunday, October 7. Ole Miss and Auburn come to town the following weekend, as the Gators play host to the Rebels on Friday, October 12 and the Tigers on Sunday, October 14.

Mississippi State is Florida’s lone contest on Florida-Georgia football weekend, as the Bulldogs travel to Gainesville to take on the Gators on Friday, October 26.

SEC foe Georgia will take on UF in the O’Dome on Friday, November 2, before 2011 SEC Champion and NCAA participant Tennessee travels to Gainesville to face the Gators on Sunday, November 4. The final regular season home weekend for the Orange and Blue is Friday and Sunday, November 16 and 18, as the Gators play host to LSU and South Carolina, respectively.

The full 2012 Florida volleyball schedule will be released in the coming weeks. The Gators are the winningest program in the NCAA since Florida head coach Mary Wise’s arrival in 1991, earning 19 SEC titles. Florida boasts the highest attendance in the SEC annually and has ranked in the top-10 in the NCAA in nine out of the last 10 seasons.

The Orange and Blue return eight letterwinners from a year ago, including 2011 starters middle blocker Chloe Mann (Gainesville, Fla.), middle blocker Betsy Smith (Atlanta, Ga.), libero Taylor Unroe (Muncie, Ind.) and right-side hitter Tangerine Wiggs (Seattle, Wash.).

The Gators add seven newcomers and one redshirt freshman as Louisville transfer Taylor Brauneis (Crystal Lake, Ill.), an honorable mention AVCA All-America setter and two-time USA A2 participant will join UF, as well as seven freshmen in setter Dana Backlund (Wildomar, Calif.), outside hitter Gabby Mallette (Orange Park, Fla.), libero Nikki O’Rourke (Clearwater, Fla.), outside hitter Živa Recek (pronounced Ghee-vah Res-ick) (Kočevje, Slovenia), outside hitter Jackie Swalchick (Melbourne, Fla.) and early enrollee outside hitter Berkley Whaley (Saint Petersburg, Fla.) as members of next season’s freshman class, along with redshirt freshman middle blocker Simone Antwi (Lorton, Va.).
