No. 2/4 Florida (42-6, 19-3 SEC) enters the weekend series with Kentucky (24-26, 10-12 SEC) tied atop the SEC standings with SEC Western Division foe Alabama. The Crimson Tide and Razorbacks play a three-game series this weekend before UF and Bama meet in the SEC finale for both teams next weekend (5/4-6) in Tuscaloosa.

The Gators split a mid-week doubleheader Tuesday with No. 23 LSU, winning game one in eight innings with a dramatic walk-off, thanks to a game-tying homer from junior Ensley Gammel (Bakersfield, Calif.) in the bottom of the seventh to force extras, followed by a RBI double from Moultrie in the eighth for UF’s third extra-innings win this season. LSU got the best of the Gators in game two, pulling out a shutout to take the nightcap, 1-0.

Florida checked in at No. 6 in the latest RPI rankings, released Monday by the NCAA. The Gators ranked third in the country in ERA (1.13), fifth in win percentage (.891), sixth in fielding percentage (.977) and 11th in slugging percentage (.526) and homers per game (1.12) entering this week’s games. Individually, sophomore ace Hannah Rogers (Lake Wales, Fla.) is sixth in the country in ERA (1.06) and sixth in victories (25). Moultrie checks in 10th in the NCAA in runs per game (1.20), with a league-leading 55 thus far in the campaign. Freshman Sami Fagan’s (Dunnellon, Fla.) five triples place her fifth in the country in the category.

Kentucky embarks on Gainesville having swept the Gators for the first time in UK program history in Lexington in 2011. The Wildcats enter the three-game set at 24-26 on the season, 10-12 in 2012 SEC play. UK is coming off a 3-1 midweek victory against Morehead State and will wrap up its regular-season road slate at KSP. In SEC action for the season the Wildcats have been led at the plate by sophomore Lauren Cumbess who owns a squad-best .345 batting average. Dill is next with a .320 average and a team-high 24 hits. Cervantes has driven in 17 runs, hit eight home runs and scored 16 times while owning a .309 batting clip.
