Two University of Florida divers advanced to the final round of NCAA Zone B Diving Regional competition Tuesday night at Auburn’s James. E. Martin Aquatic Center in an effort to earn a ticket to the NCAA Championship meet in just less than a week for the women, and right under two for the men.

Senior Kaylee Doback (Brandon, Fla.) continued on to the final round of 3-meter competition after finishing 13^th during the afternoon’s preliminary session with a score of 293.60. In the evening’s final six dives, Doback earned a combined score of 551.75 to finish 18^th overall.

Auburn’s Vennie Dantin went on to finish atop of the standings in the 3-meter competition, followed by South Carolina’s Courtney Forcucci and Tennessee’s Victoria Lamp.

Sophomore Mike Lewark (Davie, Fla.), who had a team-high 13^th-place overall finish last night off the 3-meter boards, finished 17^th in 1-meter competition Tuesday night with a combined 603.90 point total. Lewark entered the final round as the ninth-seed following a 311.35 performance in the morning’s quarterfinal.

Teammates Chris Jones (Palm City, Fla.) and David Springfels (Bradenton, Fla.), finished 24^th and 25^th overall with scores of 267.75 and 266.20, respectively.

Florida State’s Thomas Neubacher finished first off the men’s 1-meter boards followed by Auburn’s John Santeiu and Tennessee’s Ryan Helms.

With a double finish tonight on the men’s side, the No. 9 priority spot is now open for another two divers to advance, while the 11-13 spots are open for women entering the final day of diving. Therefore, the top three spots off the platform for the women, and top-two for the men tomorrow will advance to the NCAA meet. Unless there is another double- or triple-finish on the platform.

The NCAA Zone B Diving Regional will come to a close tomorrow morning with both the men and women diving off the platform. The men will kick-off Wednesday’s action with prelims beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET, with finals immediately thereafter at 1:15 p.m. ET. The women will follow with their preliminary session slated for 4:30 p.m. ET and finals set to take off at 6:15 p.m. 3T.

It is the last chance for the Gators to earn a ticket to the NCAA Championship meet, and Lewark could potentially vie for a spot after the sophomore finished third at the SEC Championships with a career-high score of 362.65 off the platform.
