The University of Florida’s Allie Will (Boca Raton, Fla.) was named the Southeastern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The Gator junior provided the clinching dual match singles victory in Florida’s 5-2 road win at No. 5 Baylor on Saturday, as she remains undefeated overall on the singles court this year (7-0). Early in the week, Will earned a straight-set decision against UCF’s Alexis Rodriguez and collected the 90th singles win of her career, improving to 90-10 with the win.

Through the week’s action, Will sported an impressive 53-3 career dual match singles record, with all matches played at either the No. 1 or No. 2 singles positions.

On the doubles court, the Gator All-American has been equally impressive, tallying a win in both dual matches last week, including the clinching doubles-point victory in the hard-fought match against Baylor.

Will is 6-1 overall in doubles this season, including a 3-0 record in dual match play and a 73-13 career mark.

This is the second time in Will’s career the 2011 SEC Player of the Year has been honored with the league’s player of the week award.

Top-ranked Florida (4-0) returns to action on Friday, when it travels to California to play Pepperdine at Stanford University’s Taube Tennis Center. The Gators then battle the second-ranked Cardinal on Sunday in Stanford.
