Gainesville, Fla.

Gordon Watson, one of the top junior tennis players in the nation, has signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Florida, mens tennis coach Andy Jackson announced on Monday.

We are pleased that Gordon will be a Gator, said Coach Jackson. He has had very successful results in Junior tennis. He plays from a solid fundamental base technically, tactically and mentally. He loves to compete and we hope that he will be able help the Gators compete for championships.

Watson, a native of Naples, Fla., is rated the No. 12 player in the 2012 class according to TennisRecruiting.net. Throughout his career, he has been rated as high as No. 1 in the USTA 12s and 14s rankings, and No. 2 in the USTA 16s rankings.
