The final group of Gators returned to Gainesville from its long and successful trip to Stanford, Calif., that culminated in Florida capturing the NCAA Women’s Tennis Team Championship.

Alex Cercone (Seminole, Fla.) and Lauren Embree (Marco Island, Fla.), two of the heroines from the Gator’s national championship run, took a moment to talk with GatorVision Online and reflect on Florida’s 4-3 victory against Stanford in the final that produced the program’s fifth national title.

The pair shared their memories about Embree’s improbable third-set comeback that she won in a tiebreaker, as well as on the team’s chemistry, on their respective decisions to attend college versus the lure of the professional tour and on the feeling of winning the team championship one week ago.
